Hello Paula and Jean, one of our team members with a career nursing background was able to provide this information below. Hopefully this helps !
For the Sacral Region (Tailbone):
Allevyn Life foam dressing is a good dressing:
Optifoam Sacrum dressing is also a good dressing:
For the Heel:
Roho Mosaic Cushion:
A Roho cushion is recommended by most physicians for sitting, as it redistributes pressure.
Low Air Loss Mattress Overlay:
This product is also designed to manage bed sores.
And for Jean's brother -- treatment wise, it should be suggested that your brother make an appointment with a wound specialist. He may need a referral from his primary care physician for this.
Best of luck !
i have a large bed sore next to my scrotum after the doctor DE-breed the depth was 9 1/2 center meters deep and 11 center meters long that operation was on the 5th of June 2018. today is 03-20-19. I've had a wound vac on it sense then the wound is now 3 centimeters deep and 6 cm long. that's just what I'm doing for it I've had this thing sense 2008 but just recently started the wound vac.
Depends on where the bedsore is located. For heels you can use a heel protector to prevent them which floats the heel off the surface of the bed. This is the heel protectors used in hospital and rehab to prevent pressure injuries and can be used at home: https://www.bettymills.com/heel-protector-boot-prevalon-heel-protector-i-one-size-fits-most-black-blue-mon75033001
