    • Ali Stoddard Thank you for the info. I am using cbd for my dog who has serious issues with anxiety, panic, storm terrors, pain issues. It seems to be helping some. I would like to try this for muscle cramps and sleep issues that I have, but, I am  wondering about interactions with the other medicines that I take. Any info available on that?

Eduardo Rosario Pat Ascheman CBD has virtually no interactions with other drugs. It’s a non issue as we already produce a cbd-like molecule called 2-AG. Also there have never been any deaths associated with plant-based Cannabis, only with pharmaceutical companies making synthetic products. It’s a natural molecule for both humans and pets. Www.GreenAlley.org has educational info about CBD, as well as clean products.

  • Has anyone had interactions with routine medicines while you used CBD oil? I mean like BP meds,  cholesterol meds or diabetes meds? If so, what were you taking and what effects  did you notice? How do you know what testing is done for quality control on the oil that is used?

Pat Ascheman Every company that you buy from should have a Certificate of Analysis (COA) that shows testing for pesticides, residual solvents, and heavy metals.

Ironically, You should think of CBD as a nutrient that will only support the healthy cells  and healthy metabolism.  Plant-based medicine is very different from pharmaceutical medicine, it is subtle and works with the body and  works with different pathways so it doesn't interfere with pharmaceuticals. Pat Ascheman cBD is a natural molecule for our bodies and only competes with the P450 enzyme for metabolism. And it only competes if you are taking extremely high amounts of CBD 800mg/day and that's only theoretical - we don't see it in practice. If it happened, the pharmaceutical wouldn't get processed and absorbed as quickly - not that there would be an interaction. They did studies with up to 1200 my use of CBD with no side effects or safety issues.

      SHARON

Many use CBD during the day for anxiety, depression, chronic pain and because it gets them out of their “fight or flight” and  they are able to sleep better at night. Most people need a THC type tincture for a sleep.

20% of the population need a CBD hemp tincture for sleep and can’t sleep on THC.

  • I have been using CBD since April of 2018 before that I was on high doses of opoid medication for cronic pain from 3 surgeries on back and neck, I been also diagnosed with neoratophy I started on the 100 for a few weeks but felt no relief now I take the 800 to 1200 and it works great for me ,at times I have to take  5 to 10 mg of hydrocodone but I am not on the high doses opoids which I use to be highly addicted to. It helps with my sleeping and the pain I can not say anything bad about this except that I wish I would of started sooner.

Jo Ann Boudreaux That’s a pretty high dose of CBD- have you tried a Liposomal product? You can take 15-20 mgs per day and get the same pain relief.

Eddie Saucier Usually, if you have found the correct product for your body the CBD will help within the first 10 minutes. Tinctures are the best way to dose and even something with a nano emulsification or a liposome is better, because the  medicine gets better absorbed and you need less.  Gummy’s need to be digested and then disbursed into the bloodstream  which makes it a bit more  difficult to dose. Also many gummy’s have crappy corn for fructose sugar and chemical additives and synthetic flavorings which are not healthy.

20 mg in the evening works well as sleep aid for me, however everyone is different,  start low 5  to 10 mg then work up from there.

  • I find it helpful for PMS and anxiety. I usually eat it in gummy form but sometimes use oil drops (usually about 25mg twice a day works for me). For immediate relief I will smoke it.

    • heather nichols sorry to bother you but I read your comment & thought I would share something with you (even tho' you didn't ask, so if I'm overstepping a boundary I do apologize). My wife & I have been married for 3+ decades and the first decade or so she was having a really tough time due to severe painful monthly cramps with Doctors trying everything (much too soon for any legal usage of pot) and in an off-handed comment after trying many different medicines he briefly said he read in a medical journal that some women experienced relief for a few hours after.....sex. As a loving husband I just wanted to do whatever it took, so it was a win/win situation for me! Best of luck!

  • Yes , I tried CBD oil in the form of gummies for distal polyneuropathy. Like mini-acupuncture, it seemed to help the first time I used it, and so the hopes I had for it only increased; from the second time on, though, I found it provided no therapeutic benefit.

I know that there is no governmental or manufacturers' system of standards or inspections to ensure quality control of CBD oil products, and so each CBD provider's product may vary as to potency and efficacy. The provider I ordered from is one who has a good reputation. So I was disappointed.

Perhaps as more states (and perhaps soon the federal government) reform the laws regarding these and related products, CBD oil providers will acquire and adhere to more consistent quality standards; and we can hope that investments into  further research and development will escalate and yield products with greater efficacy and safety. I look forward to the day!

      D. H. Silver

      hi DH,

Try a tincture, that has been tested for pesticides, heavy metals and microbes. Any legit company has a test available.

I would not start with gummyies,  as they are full of sugar and corn syrup and other chemicals. Start with a tincture that is clean, potent, and has no added synthetic chemicals. Look on the label and make sure it has milligram s of CBD, and it’s not just hemp oil which is kind of like extra-virgin olive oil – very beneficial but no CBD .
