Dementia day care for local patients allowing safe haven and respite for caregivers

Looking for guidance in establishing a day care facility for dementia patients. What is required for staffing?  what physical requirements are needed for their safe care? What is the ratio of those giving care to those requiring care?  Looking at a day care of 4 to 5 hours, Monday thru Friday. What funding would be required?

It’s a meaningful idea, but it does take planning. You’ll need trained staff (with dementia experience), a safe and secure space, and to meet state licensing rules. Ratios are usually small so people get enough attention, and costs mostly come from staffing and setup. Best first step is checking your state’s requirements, they’ll guide everything.
