Hi! I underwent open heart surgery 4 years ago. You want nice loose fitting clothes, that are easy to put on and off. Front button or oversize shirt is best. As far as a bra, I didn't use one. I was recommended not to bring one. Bring things that others csn help you dress. 

Good advice. Can you please tell me the average recovery time from open heart surgery? How long do you spend in the hospital and how long do I have to be out of work? I have been told that I will have to have surgery to replace the aortic valve and to fix the aortic vein that leaves my heart it seems to be dilating and stretching out within the next few years.
