What are the recommendations for food choices, physical activity and lifestyle when living with border line diabetes?
Hello Everyone
I have recently been diagnosed with border line diabetes. As i am a little obese, my doctor suggested that I change my lifestyle and focus on getting healthy again. I started to research about diabetes and its effects on the body. Diabetes is a condition that affects how your body uses blood sugar. It occurs when the pancreas does not produce enough insulin or when the body cannot effectively use the insulin it produces. As a result, too much glucose, or sugar, builds up in the blood.
Having diabetes can increase your risk for a number of health problems including heart disease, stroke, kidney damage, eye damage and nerve damage. People with border line diabetes are at greater risk for these health complications than those with normal blood sugar levels.
The above research is essential for understanding the risks associated with border line diabetes. It is important to remember that having a diagnosis of pre-diabetes does not mean that you will develop diabetes but it does increase your risk. People with border line diabetes should take steps to reduce their risk of developing full blown diabetes by making lifestyle modifications and regularly monitoring their blood sugar levels.
However, I am here to ask for guidance and diet plan from those who have been diagnosed with pre-diabetes.
