I've been helping out my dad long before he started losing his memory by living his house, cooking his meals, driving him to appointments, and housecleaning due to loss of hearing and eyesight. While he was visiting my sister in another city, the memory lapses got really bad. She is taking him to get officially diagnosed. He has been calling me everyday (never done that before!) thinking I'm his girlfriend and he says he is getting ready to propose. How do I make it clear that I cannot be his wife? I could accept it if he thought of me as his caregiver/nurse, but I really do not want him to believe this is a romantic relationship. Any advice?
